Main Building

We have welcomed guests to the main building since its opening in 1927. The building has been designated as a historic building by Yokohama City and was also designated a Heritage of Industrial Modernization by the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry because of its main dining hall and ballroom. During the main building's long history, famous writers became regulars of the hotel. In addition, immediately after World War II, General MacArthur worked in one of the guest rooms, which is now known as "MacArthur's Suite." Charlie Chaplin and Babe Ruth also stayed here.
